4 books to include in your October/November 2018 reading list

Hello my dear lovely friends…

I know what you all might be thinking that its almost the end of the month so why I had to include October or some other people might be thinking why I had to include November in the heading. I am really sorry guys the problem is I thought to post this blog during November 2018 but I was so excited to read the books that I am now left with one or two books for November ;-). I am really excited to share these books with you.

Different types of people have different phases in life. In my case that phase even affected my reading genre as well. During my college days I would only read suspense /thriller/horror kind of books from great authors like Agatha Christie , Sidney Sheldon , John Grisham , Robin Cook and so on. Later in my late twenties I liked books of authors like Sophie Kinsella , Danielle Steel , Nicholas Sparks , Lindsey Kelk , Trisha Ashley I think you got the hint.

Now in my early thirties I love to read all other categories but also I am more into self help kind of books. So here it goes :

  1. The Miracle Morning : The 6 Habits that will transform your life before 8 am by Hal Elrod

 

Guys this book is a game changer for those who are night owls as well as for people like me who want to wake up by or before 5 am. I have always been a morning person. Yeah go ahead , make fun of me.But I really love the crispiness of morning air , the sun rise view ahh sooo beautiful.

I had read this book before also and had followed it religiously to wake up by 5 am. Trust me guys I was then more productive , active and healthy. Recently due to some circumstances to be frank I fell off the wagon. I am aiming to get back on track by November and that’s why I included it in my reading list.

In this book the author motivates us , as well as guides us by clearly gives the purpose to wake up early and also what to do after waking up at 5 am. He even helps us to develop a morning routine which is a good thing because we could stick to it and could reap the benefits as well.

The best part about this book is he has customized the miracle morning even for night owl people he has asked simply to wake up earlier than their usual time by 30 or 60 minutes and then follow the 6 habits. Even for a lazy person (like me) who sometimes sleeps longer in the morning , he has even customized a 6 minute miracle morning so there by every body will get the essence of miracle morning and can improve their life. This book is actually a savior for me.

2. The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

This is such a wonderful book. You know it explains in very sleek simple language like how we can develop different habits in our life. Like whatever we are doing now are habits that we have developed over years and unknowingly we continue it through our whole life in an auto pilot mode.

This book helped me personally also. I want to share my personal experience : My doctors advised me to drink minimum 2 litres of water on a daily basis to improve my health. I was a person who used to drink only 3 glasses of water and I used to feel it as a chore . But gradually I increased my water intake and now I am drinking 3 litres of water on a daily basis.How did I achieve that ??? I trained my mind and body into thinking that only if I drink 3 litres of water then only I would stay healthy. This book provide these kinds of concepts to develop any kind of habit.

The interesting part of this book is that the author gives lots of examples. He explains how we can develop / transform habits with a 3 step habit loop. New year is coming and along with that New year resolutions also will come and I hope this book would really help you to achieve your resolutions.

3. Julie and Julia by Julie Powell

This book I bought after watching the movie Julie & Julia where lead characters were played by Amy Adams and Meryl Streep. I liked that movie so much and also always wanted to start a blog ever since I saw that movie. The book is a detailed version of the blogs that the author wrote with a glimpses of Julia Child’s life.I read only 25% of the book so far and I liked it!!!!

4. You are a badass by Jen Sincero

 

Like I said I wanted to make a reading list for November but out of my excitement I read the above 2 books and third one half. This one I kept it for the last. So I would still have something left to read for November. The reason I bought this book is because I liked the tag line which I want to quote here “How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life”.Isn’t cool I mean who doesn’t want to do that. So lets give it a try.
